PROJECT OF GREATEST NEED  –   Reusable Cloth Menstrual Pads.

We run sewing workshops teaching the skills needed to empower girls and women to sew (either by hand or using a sewing machine) cloth menstrual pads for their own use.

We aim to raise awareness of period poverty and its impact on the education of schoolgirls in Africa and the Caribbean.

We work to develop a network of volunteers to sew and donate menstrual hygiene kits to schoolgirls in need in Africa and the Caribbean.  

Our menstrual hygiene kit contains:

•  A drawstring bag which includes:
• 8-12 sanitary pads
• Instructional care and use sheet
• 1 small transport bag
• 2 pairs of underwear
• 1 drying strap
• 4 heavy-duty safety pins

We accept donations of fabrics, thread, and sewing supplies, new underwear- girl’s sizes 10-16 and women’s small are the most common sizes.

You can also donate money to purchase underwear or supplies for our sewing volunteers.
